Host a Salon Event
Invite your community to listen, learn, and make an impact for AdvanceEDU.
Our new Salon Event Series was created to exponentially grow AdvanceEDU’s innovative opportunity model — expanding the support needed to scale our programs and ensure long-term sustainability.
Make a Difference
Every gift makes a difference, and your thoughtful generosity can change the lives of hundreds more hard-working students.
What is a Salon Event?
Different Types of Salon Events
Providing a couple of hours for attendees to connect, the Salon event format is left to the host’s discretion. The goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable and connected to each other.
- A Coffee Talk
- Cocktails & Conversation
- Donor Dinner
How Can I Help?
Salon Events are designed to be a minimal lift for the host, while providing a huge benefit to AdvanceEDU. Our Host Toolkit has everything you need to help recruit, plan, and execute a first-class event that your circle will be excited to attend. As a host, your responsibilities are simple:
Before
The Event
- Work with AdvanceEDU to host a Salon event in your home or another venue. You can lead the planning or seek the support of the AdvanceEDU team.
- Curate an invitation list of 15+ attendees that align with your network and a list of target donors.
During
The Event
- Make some brief introductory remarks at the event – advocating for support of AdvanceEDU’s work, and why it is important to you.
- Mingle with your guests – introduce them to each other and engage them in conversations about AdvanceEDU.
After
The Event
- Identify and follow-up with qualified supporters who attended your event
- Identify contacts in your network who have the capacity and/or interest in learning more about AdvanceEDU.
